Two down, one to go..

Break time, partly because I'm finally hungry and going to make chicken adobo. Actually, to be quite frank, studying is draining. Tonight is going to be a long night and I may have to convince Larry to take me to a coffee shop after dinner. Here are a few random photos taken recently for show and tell.

Just took the plant test today. Turn on the TV and well, well, whatdya know. On the Kid's Learning channel all about plants... not thrilled.

Louie get jealous! Larry feeding Macho some vienna sausages.

The Grilla in Manila

Mia wanted something sweet so I said I would take her in exchange for ice cold beer. We saw the sign for Beer Below Zero at Grilla Bar and Grill in Libis near Eastwood. My ordering process was easy, Mia had much to deliberate about. After a careful analysis of the dessert menu, Mia decided on the Chocolate Tempura. Basically 4 chocolate bars of some kind deep fried in Tempura batter, served with ice cream, and topped with chocolate syrup. I wonder why she gets these sweet cravings every four weeks? Safe to say I finished my beers and Mia did a good job finishing the dessert. Good job team.

Crack Kills...

I hope he didn't scratch his butt then continue using my laptop...

Anyhow, I've been in study mode. One test Monday, one Wednesday and the last on Thursday. My brain hurts. On a side, I'm almost done with a book & almost finished watch Dexter Season 5 courtesy of the pirated DVD friends posted up in front of the spot we pay bills. Meanwhile, Larry is on his comic-turned-into-movie marathon. X-Men, Captain America, Thor and the list will potentially go on if our friends continue selling great quality DVDs haha. That's all for now! Studying starts... after I eat lunch =)

PBA Finals game 5 - TNT v Petron

We were able to score PBA finals tickets from my buddy Harv. Couldn't miss an opportunity to see a finals game and was happy to get such great seats. Unfortunately TNT lost and is now down 2-3 in a best of 7 series. Harv played well but the team just didn't get enough scoring with their import sidelined due to injury.

I passed on the Taco Bell this time since we had Orale last night. Couldn't pass on a beer though.

Talk 'N Text is #1

Thanks again Harv.

Orale Vato

We met up with Mia's friend Gabriel from Gilroy last night and decided it was time to try Mexican food in the P.I. again. Our first attempt at Mexican food didn't turn out well. It was at Chihuahua in Makati and not only did the food suck, the owner wasn't even open to suggestions. Our second encounter with Mexican food was when we had Taco Bell during the PBA game at Araneta. I know Taco Bell isn't exactly Mexican, but I was happy to have sour cream. Mia doesn't like Taco Bell so I did most of the eating. So last night we tried Orale, Fort Strip in Fort Bonafacio. I can say I was pleasantly surprised with my burrito. The tortilla was warm and soft and the carne asada had excellent flavor. The salsa reminded me a bit of Chevy's. My only complaints were that the chips were a little too thick. The owner gave us some free guacamole to try which was nice, but it could have used a little lime and salt. Overall I recommend Orale and will be going back there when I need my Mexican fix. Afterwards we went to Agave on High Street for bottomless margaritas to keep in the Mexican theme and to keep Gabriel cool in the heat.

Wingman Winner

Last night, Larry, Onil, Japee, and I went to our friend Chewy's restaurant called, Wingman. There was no way we could pass up all you can eat buffalo wings for one hour all for 395PHP! There was a mini contest (one for the guys and one for the girls) to eat as many wings as you can in an hour. Larry had prepped himself but just couldn't make it. He took 2nd place with 34 wings while the winner, Daryl won with 36 wings. For the ladies side, I took down 17 wings and felt intensely full but managed to win the ladies contest.

I claimed the mountain of chicken bones.
